Dear Parents
Information items:-
SIGN2SING:
This Wednesday, Portfields are taking part in the national Sign2sing event where all the children have been taught a song which they will collectively sign-to. This will be done nationally, with all participating schools singing and signing at the same time. We request a donation of £1.00 which will go towards the organisation to help hearing impaired and disabled children and young adults. This will fund equipment and the teaching of signing. It was a tremendously uplifting experience when the whole school practised recently. I am very proud of all the children and their signing abilities. I would like to thank Mrs Cross and Mr Sohal for teaching the children these valuable skills.
LOST PROPERTY:
This is again amassing to a significant degree. Please come in and check. We will shortly have to dispose of unclaimed items for health & safety and space reasons. Please name all your child’s items.
LATENESS:
May I remind you that school starts at 8.50am and it is essential that your child is
here to start lessons at that time. It would also be appreciated if you could collect your child promptly from after-school clubs.
ABSENCES:
All absences must be accounted for in writing. Requests for Leave of Absence
must be in writing to the Headteacher with dates and reason given.
COLD WEATHER:
Please ensure your child has warm outer clothing and sensible shoes/wellingtons.
Children finish school this Thursday, 9 February 2012, and return on
Monday 20 February 2012. Teachers have a training day on Friday, 10 February.
I wish you all a very happy half-term holiday. Thank you for your support.
Yours sincerely
MARY ST-AMOUR
